4 Honors Students Inducted into Honor Society
Most recently, 4 Native American students at the Adobe Middle School received honors by being inducted into the National Honor Society Humboldt Chapter. The four individuals and their families atteded an inductee ceremony and received certificates. Jordan Jake son of Tonyand Alfreida Jake and grandmother Juanita Joe, Alexus Leyva, daughter of Dalene and Fred Leyva, Marissa Lloyd daughter of Thea Piffero and Wayne Lloyd and not pictured is Lorena Navarro, duaghter of Vickie and Joe Navarro.
According to Wikepedia, The National Honor Society (NHS), established in 1921, is a recognition program for American High School students who show achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character, Students are selected for membership through an established school chapter in secondary public and accredited private schools by a five member Faculty Council. Candidates must meet the chapter's requirement for scholarship, service, leadership and character in order to be selected for membership.
Continued participation in service projects is required to retain membership. Members must also maintain the chapter's required grade point average.
